The Higher Education Commission said Sunday that the HEC Undergraduate Studies Admission Test would be held in the coming month (HEC USAT). This test determines student eligibility for undergraduate admission to Pakistani universities.

HEC did not say that USAT is mandatory for taking admission to universities. Meanwhile, The advertising came when several institutions had already published entry exam dates and opened undergraduate applications. In addition, many colleges do not require a general BS admission exam.

According to the HEC advertising, the Education Testing Council (ETC) will administer the Undergraduate Studies Admission Test. This test is for university undergraduate entrance in Pakistan. A senior official at a Lahore public institution denied that the HEC had contacted them regarding USAT. Students believed the test was mandatory since the higher education regulator advertised it, he said.
